So I use dictation a lot by choice. And I found today that the dictation button now is swiping up and holding and releasing when you’re done and it will automatically send and transcribe afterwards. One thing I really loved was the differentiation between diction and voice chat. Voice chat was automatic. It was raw. It was unedited with diction. I was able to stop edit change while also being hands-free. Now with this change, it makes it difficult for you to actually edit unless you slowly drag down and if you accidentally let go it sends. I believe anyone using dictation would probably have a longer responses compared to those who use voice to chat, which would make no sense to force the user to hold their phone until they’re done and making them unable to edit. It makes it no different from using voice to chat and essentially makes it redundant. I use dictation especially when I am multitasking Honestly, this ruined my entire experience as a user. I’m also curious to see if other people have that thought process I’m not a developer. And would love to hear on the developer side, maybe some insight and why they would make these two distinct tools basically the same thing.
