TL;DR: A bug introduced in the September 5th update (Astra 6) for the ChatGPT Mac Desktop App has completely wiped the UI rendering of my massive, months-long Codex project thread. In my attempts to recover the data, the system is repeatedly processing my entire codebase, resulting in astronomical “cached input” charges (e.g., 5,000+ credits in a single day). I am trapped in an AI-support bot loop and my business is facing severe consequences. I desperately need a human to pull my ticket.
The Bug: Starting September 5th, immediately after updating my ChatGPT Mac App, a critical Codex thread containing months of business-critical work suddenly appeared completely empty. I can click on the thread, but no chat history loads.
The Financial Drain: Because the thread appears empty, every time I query the system to try and locate my work, Codex is seemingly searching through the entire codebase looking for the missing data. This has caused my credit usage to surge astronomically.

I am being slammed with massive “cached input” charges, burning hundreds of dollars in API credits just trying to bypass this UI bug.
The Support Black Hole: I have been trying to get human help for over a week (original Case #14729228, new Case #15158405). The automated AI bot just keeps reciting policy that prepaid credits are non-refundable and telling me to check my archives. It does not understand that a UI bug is causing a runaway token loop.

Credit Reimbursement: I need my account credited for the hundreds of dollars in cached inputs burned over the last week due exclusively to this platform bug.
If any staff member or DevRel sees this, please escalate Case #15158405 to a human engineer. I am completely locked out of my work and bleeding credits.
