It is disappointing that pro user’s aren’t getting any love. No canvas, no project support with o1. While the former is understandable, the latter just seems like an intentional limitation, but why? To discourage people from using the pro subscription?
The o1 model is just way too powerful to go back to gpt4-o
The o1 model can’t parse files other than images so it makes sense it isn’t available in projects. Once it starts to support other file formats, it will be able to be used in projects, hopefully.
The o1 model is just way too powerful to go back to gpt4-o. My previous post was closed without addressing my disappointment or opening a feature request or providing additional details about the reason of this limitation. This is a forum where people are sharing their opinion so OpenAI can learn from feedback, prematurely closing forum items is not Christmas spirit. And just because it is mentioned in the FAQ it doesn’t mean it is not a serious limitation. If nothing else please introduce it as a pro-only feature. Thanks!
You’re fine. You show no disrespect and are just honestly seeking an answer or a means to use more models with ChatGPT projects. The reason I know this is because I too have the same desire, and in researching that answer, I knew it before you posted your question.
I am no longer a moderator here, gave it up for a reason. You will have to flag the post and request that it be deleted. Or instead ask for the selected solution to be undone.
I just chatted inside a Project and (A) it was clearly o1 because it had multi step “reasoning” with details and (B) I was subsequently warned I only had 25 o1 responses remaining.
Pretty annoyed about that last thing, nowhere was I told that I was chatting with o1, and now I have used up a lot of o1 responses when 4o would have been good enough.
I created my first project today, and in top of the project area, there is 4o and i can select any other model, o1, etc. But if I add a file, they lock to 4o and says the obvious: “when using custom instructions or files, only 4o is allowed”.
Isn’t that expected, since o1 doesn’t read all type of files?
I got curious about the “custom instructions” part. Does this mean that ChatGPT’s custom instructions don’t normally affect o1?
I can confirm that now, it is also working for me. Thank you OpenAI for being so fast with the developments and listening to feedback. Or maybe this addition was just obvious? Either way I’m happy about it. Will make it easier to organize thoughts. Users are getting some Christmas love.
