When attempting to download the image in latest gpt-4o app for MacOS, no download option is provided only copy option is there, preventing users from saving the generated images to their devices. However, this functionality works correctly on the ChatGPT website, where users can download the images without any problems.

I also have this issue. I have to go to the web interface to download.
I have the same problem, no image download. Seems like a major issue since it was the reason I upgraded to a paid subscription.
Even the chatGPT-4o says:

- Click on the image you want to download. This will open it in full size.
- Right-click on the image (if you are using a trackpad, you can use a two-finger click).
- In the context menu, select the option “Save Image As…”.
- Choose the location on your computer where you want to save the image and click “Save”.
This way, you can download any image displayed in ChatGPT.
Nothing like that. Clicking the image does nothing, context menu gives me just

I’m having exactly the same problem. Doesn’t work in the MacOS app, but does work in Chrome on the same machine.
Yes, it does not work. Moreover, when I paste text from Word application, it gets pasted as a PNG file

Workaround:
If you open up chat through the browser, you will see your conversation logged along with your image which you can now download.
