Dear OpenAI Team,
I would love to suggest introducing a free one-year ChatGPT subscription for verified university students, similar to the student offers available through other AI platforms. ChatGPT has become an important educational tool for students. However, free users face limitations on messages, file uploads, images, and access to advanced models.
A student plan could offer:
- One year of free ChatGPT Plus for verified university students.
- Increased message and file upload limits.
- More access to advanced reasoning models.
- Better support for studying, assignments, research, and exam preparation. Many students rely on ChatGPT but cannot afford a monthly subscription. Making it more accessible would have a meaningful impact on university education.I hope OpenAI considers this suggestion.
Thank you for your time
I agree with the student plan idea, and I want to add a different angle from education and long-form work.
For a student, continuity matters as much as access. A student building an idea over weeks — a thesis, a research question, a creative project — needs the model to remember how they think, not just what they said.
Continuity is not merely remembering facts. It is preserving language, emotional context, spontaneity, and recognizable character. When a conversation is cut, it’s not an answer that is lost, it’s the rhythm of thought.
The same applies to quality. If a model flattens every character into the same well-adjusted version, or rewrites a student’s own prose when asked only to proofread it, that is not safety. That is quality loss.
Quality is a capability. And continuity is trust.
So yes to a student plan — and yes to stable, transparent rules, so that education, science, and art can all keep their own rhythm.
