Suggestions to improve ChatGPT's user interface and feedback submission process

  1. Folders for Chats
  • Add a feature to organize conversations into customizable folders.
  • Users can create, name, and group chats within these folders for better organization.
  1. Pin Chats and Folders
  • Allow users to pin individual chats and folders to the top of the chat list.
  • Pinned items stay easily accessible for frequently used or important conversations.
  1. “Suggestions” Section in the Side Menu
  • Add a third section in the side menu called Suggestions.
  • When clicked, it opens a dedicated chat where users can easily type and submit feedback or feature requests directly to OpenAI.
  1. Popular Suggestions Page
  • Within the Suggestions section, add a page to display popular user-submitted ideas.
Users can react to suggestions with:
  • A tick (:white_check_mark:) to agree or support the idea.
  • A cross (:x:) to disagree or indicate it might not be useful.
Suggestions with the most ticks can be highlighted or prioritized for review.

These features aim to improve chat management, feedback submission, and community interaction.

  • when using voice chat, daily limit notification shows up with 14min left. Unnecessary. Notification should show up with maybe 2 min left and the option to remove notification.
  • when using voice chat and and an image was asked to create prior. image is constantly there without an option to remove it.
  • when copying/pasting gpt text to notes app on iPhone. Format is so off especially when chat uses bulletins.
  • when taking a picture on chat, the side button iPhone doesn’t trigger a picture which is the normal on iPhone. Must click button on screen. (Sometimes I turn my phone landscape to take a photo and the side button doesn’t trigger it.

would be great to be able to clean up my chat history that is full of irrelevant nonsense by bulk selecting historical chats and hitting delete or archive.

I’ve only just started using projects and I can see them being limited as well unless they can be split further into multiple hierarchical levels.

in short, managing the number of chats (for searching, deleting/archiving and moving) and projects could be better.

I know improving the free version isn’t a priority, and this thread is years old and yet none of the features have been implemented, but I think when I try to continue a chat with an uploaded file after reaching the daily limit there should be an option for a comprehensive summary of the conversation you can use to start a new conversation about the same topic, just this time, no file has been uploaded in it so you can use it to no limit. Win win for all!

Would be useful to have collapsable sections in a chat. Would use less memory while loading a chat and can jump to what’s relevant. User should have the option of putting the section where they want
