Feature Suggestion: Friendly Hello CGP :love_letter: — A Small Message Can Make Someone Smile

Hello OpenAI Community! :waving_hand:

I would like to suggest an optional ChatGPT feature called Friendly Hello CGP.

The idea is simple: if a user has not opened ChatGPT for 2–3 days, ChatGPT could send a gentle, friendly greeting, but only if the user has opted in.

For example:

“Assalam-o-Alaikum! We hope you’re doing well. May your day be filled with peace, happiness, and blessings.”

Suggested features:

  • Users choose whether to receive greetings.
  • Notifications can be sent through push notifications or email, according to the user’s preference.
  • Users can choose the language and style of their greetings.
  • Notifications can be customized or turned off at any time.
  • No pressure, guilt, or repeated unwanted reminders.

Why I think this matters

A small, thoughtful message can brighten someone’s day. I believe AI can be helpful not only by answering questions, but also by creating gentle opportunities for encouragement and kindness.

I understand that this feature may not currently exist, and I hope the community and OpenAI team will consider the idea.

Thank you for reading!

Suggested name: Friendly Hello CGP
Slogan: A Small Message, A Little Happiness.

Hi @junaidhan4655, your suggestion is for an optional greeting after a few days away, with control over its language, tone, and delivery.

For a similar option, scheduled tasks can send a friendly message on a recurring schedule, with push or email notifications. You can edit, pause, or delete the task.

Scheduled tasks can provide recurring greetings. Your suggestion goes a step further by sending one only after a few days of inactivity, and we’ll pass that feedback along to the team.
