Suggestion to Introduce a Recovery Function for Deleted Chats

Hello OpenAI Team and Community,**

I have a suggestion to improve ChatGPT. It would be very helpful if deleted chats were not immediately permanently deleted but could be restored within a 7-day period.

Here is my idea in detail:

  1. Deleted Chats Folder: Introduce a special folder or section called “Deleted Chats” where all recently deleted chats are stored for 7 days.
  2. Recovery Function: Users can access the “Deleted Chats” folder within this 7-day period and restore accidentally deleted chats with one click.
  3. Notification System: A notification could remind the user that a chat will be permanently deleted soon, e.g., 24 hours before the 7-day period ends.

I believe this feature would provide users with additional security and prevent the loss of important information.
