Hi OpenAI team,
I’m loving the ChatGPT mobile experience, especially with GPT-4 and custom instructions—it’s become a daily tool for everything from writing to planning to quick research.
To make it even more seamless on iOS, I’d love to propose a set of enhancements focused on widgets and system-level integrations. These features would dramatically streamline how users interact with ChatGPT throughout the day and make it feel even more like a native iOS productivity companion.
-
Home Screen Widgets
• Quick Prompt Launcher: Tap-to-open specific categories like “Brainstorm,” “Summarize,” or “Write Email.”
• Voice-to-Prompt Shortcut: One-tap mic that transcribes voice input and sends it as a prompt.
• Pinned Chats Widget: Direct access to favorited or recent conversations from the Home Screen.
• “Ask Me Anything” Shortcut: A widget that opens a fresh blank chat for instant interaction. -
Lock Screen Widgets (iOS 16+)
• A compact version of the “Quick Prompt” or “Voice Prompt” tool that can be launched without unlocking the device.
• A daily prompt of the day (“Inspiration” or “Writing Spark”). -
iOS Shortcut & Siri Integration
• Support for building automation using Siri Shortcuts (e.g., “Hey Siri, ask ChatGPT to summarize my clipboard”).
• Trigger GPT responses based on app actions or time-of-day routines. -
Share Sheet Integration
• A “Send to ChatGPT” option in the iOS share menu that allows selected text, URLs, or screenshots to be sent directly into a ChatGPT chat for summarization, rephrasing, or answering. -
Apple Watch Mini Prompting
• A lightweight watchOS app to dictate a quick prompt and view the response on your phone.
• Great for on-the-go ideas, reminders, or journaling via voice. -
Notification-Based Prompting
• Option to schedule recurring reminders tied to favorite prompts (e.g., “Morning Planning,” “Journal Reflection,” “End-of-Day Summary”).
These features would further position ChatGPT as a go-to personal assistant and productivity hub—one that works fluidly across Apple’s ecosystem. Thanks for all the great work so far. I’d be thrilled to see any of these on the roadmap!
