Hello,
I’m proposing an idea for large stores (supermarkets and retail with many products/shelves, e.g., DIY/hardware): more than a simple “product locator”, because GPT can converse, explain, and recommend in a personalized way (not just point to an aisle).
In short, how it works:
The customer creates their shopping list at home in the app.
In the store, the app becomes a “GPS + video + audio”: it shows on a map where each product is and the optimal route, provides voice guidance in the customer’s language (useful for visitors/foreigners who don’t speak the local language), and can activate the rear camera to clearly confirm the product/shelf (useful when you can’t ask staff).
It checks availability; if the product is missing, it recommends alternatives and quickly explains the differences (ingredients/allergens/diet/preferences). The customer can set restrictions (e.g., allergies, intolerances, diet) so recommendations are appropriate.
In addition, the customer can consult GPT on whether a product is suitable for their needs (what to choose, what to pay attention to, which option fits better).
If the product isn’t on the shelf, it can call an employee and send the request + the customer’s location.
What it solves:
Reduces shopper stress and time wasted in the store.
Staff are interrupted less often.
Reduces abandoned purchases when a product is missing, through good alternatives.
