I’ve been using SORA on the PRO plan pretty much since it came out, at first for the first week it was very slow, then it got pretty fast, even in relaxed mode.
Usually, it takes 5-6 minutes maximum to generate or remix a video in 1080p.
Today, It’s taking 15 minutes, what’s happening?
They don’t communicate also in the status page, I’ve been using it pretty much everyday for 3 months so I definitely know when something is different.
History repeats itself…I am on the Plus version, with unlimited video generation, worked great yesterday, about 1 min, for each video 480p 10 sec videos…but today almost 10 minutes per video of 5 or 10 secs…What is happening?
First rule in UX design: make a product useable. The new wait times in Sora now make it an “unusable” content tool. I’m guessing this doesn’t matter much to OpenAI or they would have solved this issue before opening up video creation to everyone. I had thought about upgrading to the $200 month option, but with everyone having to wait extremely long times to render even short 10 second videos, that does not seem like smart choice any longer. The good news is for other companies that are making video creation the core business of their business. Although Sora quality is great, if you can’t use it to produce videos in reasonable time, then perhaps some quality will have to be sacrificed in order to have a tool that can actually be used as a tool. Just to note, I’ve been waiting almost 20 minutes for a 10 sec clip to render. Sorry, that doesn’t work for me. I’ll use it when available, but won’t count on it as a working tool.
