"Smart Date" AI just is not smart or even working

Discourse forum software has a feature to show times in a user’s local time zone. Receiving that on this forum seems near impossible.

Issue 1:

Discourse doesn’t document what goes into the reply box to actually make these smart dates work. You have to freeze-frame a video on their support site to get a glimpse, where it shows this:

[date-range from=2025-01-06T09:00:00 to=2025-01-08T18:00:00 timezone="America/Toronto"]

2025-01-06T14:00:00Z2025-01-08T23:00:00Z

I want to show a time. The best I was able to construct manually was:

[date=2025-01-06T09:00:00 timezone="America/Toronto"]

2025-01-06T14:00:00Z

Issue 2

The AI function to create them will just produce damaged nonsense, whether you select the whole post, just the date with all the required info in any format you can imagine, or even type out a prompt for it with your selection.

Which the AI model apparently has no clue about:

Giving non-working output over and over again, even splitting the year into multiple sections like 202 4-, or below, the time split and not patched back together. And as you can see, changing the time itself.

This date will be converted to Discourse smart date for anyone’s time zone [date=2025-05-19 time=17: 00:00 timezone=“America/Los_Angeles”]

Bad quality AI not able to follow an instruction? Or broken instructions?
