Should I use GPT 5.3 Codex or GPT 5.4 specifically for coding

For coding tasks, which model should I choose?

I’m trying both, and I Think my sentiment lies with Codex 5.3

But Im not always sure. 5.4 is also really good.

@openai Team - what do you suggest specifically for coding?

Languages Im using Python, Typescript

Application type: Against Realtime API openAI, Voice Agents

Hi!

GPT-5.3-Codex is a coding model. Unlike GPT-5.4, I would not use it for much else. That said, the right choice ultimately depends on your use case. GPT-5.3-Codex is also a bit cheaper, so it’s worth considering.

GPT-5.4 better for coding than all other models. Even better than “5.3-codex” models. U can ask chatgpt why.

But now u can use only -mini models cuz they use up usage allowance in 10 minutes, not 5 like other

a bit? 5.4 eats 5h limit like CRAZY 20% for simple 1 prompt work with 1 .py file

(resulted in +115 lines of code)

You should DOUBLE check that, its looks like a BUG.
