Setting To Prevent Automatic Focusing Of Text Field

Please, add a setting to prevent the text field from being focused automatically.

Currently, the text field is automatically focused after sending a prompt, starting a new chat, or opening a recent chat. This is annoying when using keyboard-only workflow with Vimium. The first thing I want to do after receiving a response is to scroll the response and select hyperlinks.

Thanks for the suggestion, @Starker. I can see how automatic focus on the prompt field would get in the way if you're primarily navigating with the keyboard.

Before I pass this along internally, could you help add a bit more context by answering these questions?

  1. What are you ultimately trying to accomplish, in your own words?
  2. What do you do today instead, and what about that isn't working for you?
  3. If we solved this perfectly, what would be different for you or your workflow?

That extra detail will help the team better understand the use case and evaluate the request.

  1. I want to improve speed and remove redundant button presses. Generally, I use keyboard workflow where possible to reduce repetitive strain injury caused by reaching for the mouse constantly.

  2. I must habitually press Escape after sending a prompt. I almost never immediatly type another prompt. I usually scroll or select hyperlinks in the response with Vimium.

  3. I would be less annoyed and less likely to switch to another LLM.

Thanks for the extra context, @Starker. The details about your keyboard-only workflow, Vimium usage, and the added friction from having to press Escape after each prompt are helpful in illustrating the impact.

I've shared this with our team so it can be logged as a feature request for consideration. Thanks for taking the time to explain your use case.
