Hello OpenAI Community,
I hope this post finds you well. I am reaching out to this knowledgeable community with a particular inquiry about a specific type of GPT chat application for Android.
I’m interested in a mobile application that supports two ways voice communication with a GPT chatbot. Here’s the general workflow I’m envisioning:
- After launching the chat, the microphone gets activated, and I, as the user, would speak out my message.
- My spoken message would be transcribed into text.
- Upon utterance of a specific keyword, let’s say “send it”, the transcribed message would be sent to the chatbot, and the microphone would be deactivated.
- The chatbot would generate a response, which would subsequently be converted from text to speech, providing an auditory response.
- Once the chatbot finishes its speech, the microphone gets reactivated for the next spoken input, and so forth.
The objective of this system is to provide a fully hands-free experience. Ideally, I’d like to be able to put my phone in my pocket, put on my headphones, go for a walk, and engage in conversation with the chatbot.
In my search for such an application, I have come across several fan-made projects. Unfortunately, my experiences with them have been disappointing due to various issues such as dysfunctional microphones, bugs, and other technical problems. Therefore, I’m looking for something more reliable and polished, and I would appreciate any recommendations you may have.
I am open to paid options, assuming the application offers a robust and smooth user experience. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Dawid
