I’m frustrated with Temporary Chat because sometimes I start a temporary chat just for a quick question, but then I end up getting very useful results. After that, I want to save the current temporary chat into my regular chat history, but I can’t.
Please add a feature that lets users convert a Temporary Chat into a normal saved chat.
For example, there could be a button like “Save this chat” or “Move to history” inside Temporary Chat. This would help when a temporary conversation becomes important and the user wants to keep it for later.
This would make ChatGPT much more useful because users would not lose valuable conversations just because they started in Temporary Chat.

A few people have brought up the same issue with Temporary Chat. Sometimes you start one thinking it’ll be disposable, then it turns into something worth keeping, and right now there’s no clean way to move it into normal history.
The idea of a simple “Save this chat” or “Move to history” option inside Temporary Chat makes a lot of sense and would solve that workflow pretty neatly.
I’m forwarding this to the team so it can be logged as product feedback. Hopefully this is something they improve over time since the current behavior can definitely lead to losing useful conversations.
