Resizable text box & text editor mode in chatgpt (app & website)

Hey ChatGPT team,

Frequently pasting in blocks of code or text, and needing to be able to review/read sections within the text entry window. ChatGPT is important to my work, and this feature would enhance my experience.

It would be much better if this box could be resized to allow for more text to be visible at the same time (like an expand button) - for the edit window.

For example, despite the large monitor, it’s only using this tiny portion of the display in the centre, there really should be an expand button or similar to provide better entry capability & readability (or some sort of “editor” entry mode where pressing enter creates a newline instead of submitting the prompt):

I am finding that this is causing me to need to write prompts externally and paste them in, which is much less useful.

This is a good suggestion that has been around for years and addressed to the satisfaction of many.

A few years ago I had the same problem and used an Chrome extension which then, the topic discussing the details and other such solutions can be found by reading the related topics listed below this.

A better solution for your problem as I understand it would be to use a model with a canvas.
