Request for Consistent Default GPT Model Selection Across All Platforms

I’ve noticed that on the macOS ChatGPT app, starting a new chat defaults to the last selected GPT model. While this behavior is consistent on macOS, it does not apply to iOS, Android, or the web versions, where users can set a default GPT model, and it stays consistent for new chats.

I believe it would enhance user experience if the macOS app could also support setting a default GPT model that remains consistent across sessions, similar to the functionality on iOS, Android, and the web versions. This would provide a uniform experience across all platforms.

Is this feature currently being considered, or could it be added to the roadmap?

Thank you!

Hi,

Could you implement a setting in the macOS application to select a default model for new chats? Currently, the selection is dynamic, and without notice, a new chat sometimes switches from ChatGPT-4o to ChatGPT-1o preview. This is frustrating when I intend to use ChatGPT-4o but end up on the ChatGPT-1o preview model (o1-preview) instead. The design is inconvenient, especially for ChatGPT Plus users, as the preview model has a weekly limit of only 50 messages, which depletes quickly.
