Subject: Request for Advanced Dialogue Management Features
Dear OpenAI Team,
I would like to provide some feedback regarding the current dialogue interface in ChatGPT. While I understand that the primary focus has been on improving the model’s performance and capabilities, I believe that the user interface could also benefit from significant enhancements to improve the overall user experience.
Specifically, I would suggest the following:
-
Sorting and Grouping Dialogues: The ability to sort, group, and
categorizing conversations based on topics, themes, or personal tags would greatly improve the interface for users who handle multiple dialogues. -
Tree-Like Dialogue Management: Introducing a system that allows users to branch conversations into different threads, rather than a linear format, would help immensely in managing complex, ongoing dialogues.
In addition to the dialogue branching and sorting features I mentioned, it would also be beneficial to have the capability to:
-
Mark Important Points: Allow users to highlight or mark certain points in conversations as important for easy reference later.
-
Create References for Points or Branches: The ability to reference specific points or branches in a dialogue could greatly improve navigation and context, especially when dealing with long or complex discussions.
These features would help users better manage and navigate through key information across multiple conversations.
While I understand the desire to keep the interface minimalistic, I propose that advanced features be made optional, allowing users who need more control over their conversations to enable them, without affecting those who prefer simplicity.
These features would greatly improve the experience for users like myself who rely on multiple ongoing discussions. Given that these changes are relatively minor compared to the complexity of your model development, I believe they would be feasible to implement and would result in a much more user-friendly interface.
Thank you for considering my feedback.
Best regards.
