Request for ability to sort conversations by GPT name. Feature for Custom GPT Development

Essential feature request for Custom GPT Development

When GPT builders work with many customized language models for specialized purposes, they create multiple conversations per model that reflect subcategories or different stages of development, such as problem identification and formulation, goal clarification, instruction creation, prompt exploration, prototype testing, optimization, and drafting before publishing.

This quickly fills the vertical sidebar with conversations, making organization, search, continuity, and project evolution management difficult.

The recent “New Project” feature is designed for broad thematic grouping and does not solve this problem, as creators need to track specific Custom GPT names with their evolving versions.

Proposed Improvement

I propose improving the ChatGPT interface so that each conversation title prominently displays the Custom GPT name. Below it, the model version appears in smaller text for quick reference. A critical feature would be the ability to sort and filter conversations by the Custom GPT name, with optional numbered subcategories representing development stages (such as 1, 2, 3, 4) that can be freely defined and edited by the creator.

This would give GPT developers clear control over the organization, management, and evolution of their versions across multiple projects and iterations.

One of the most important reasons GPT Builders need to open new conversations is that as a conversation grows longer, the model’s memory weakens. This makes it essential during the creation of examples (training data). When there are many conversations across different Custom GPTs, finding, continuing, and using them becomes much harder.
