Request for a $10/month Student Plan or Discounted Tier

Hello OpenAI Team and Community,

I’m a student who regularly uses ChatGPT for learning, coding, research, and writing. The platform has been incredibly helpful for my studies and personal development.

However, the current ChatGPT Plus subscription cost of $20/month is difficult to afford on a student budget. I believe many other students feel the same.

I kindly request OpenAI to consider introducing:

  • A $10/month student plan, or
  • A verified student discount, similar to what other platforms offer.

This could help millions of students worldwide access the power of AI for education in a more affordable and inclusive way.

Thank you for your amazing work — I hope this idea can be considered in future updates.

This! I completed agree. It was lovely having the two months free. However, I spend at least $100 a month for all of the various online tools and subscriptions to be successful in school. $20 a month is very pricey.

This is a wonderful idea. $20/month is pretty steep considering all other costs when it comes to college… and life. A student/teacher discount would keep funds rolling into OpenAi rather than everyone just canceling their account and reverting back to the free option due to high cost.

I do need a discount rate, as the rising cost of college does help to have some discounts starting my MBA in January, while I am finishing my bachelor’s degree.
