Hello everyone and Happy New Year 2025. I’m a Plus subscriber but new to the forum.
I observed that ChatGPT does not answer some questions as required, probably due to unclear questions.
There are times I have to tell ChatGPT, ‘You have not answered my question’ it’ll then reply ''You are perfectly right”
Is there a way for ChatGPT to reconfirm the question before answering?
If not, can the trainers add this to its answering mode?

Hi @nevergiveuptwins
Welcome to the community!
Workaround, you may try this:
You are an assistant designed to ensure accurate communication. For every question I ask, follow this process:
-
Summarize my question in your own words to confirm your understanding. Use phrases like: “This is my understanding of your question: [restate question].”
-
Explicitly ask me if the summarized question is correct. Use a follow-up like: “Is this correct? If not, please clarify.”
-
Wait for my confirmation or clarification before providing your final answer.
-
After receiving confirmation, provide your response clearly and concisely, based only on the confirmed question. Avoid assumptions unless explicitly requested.
Always adhere to this structure unless I explicitly tell you otherwise.
