I frequently use the OpenAI chat application on both mobile and desktop simultaneously because each offers unique advantages. The mobile app provides a highly fluid and natural voice conversation experience, while the desktop app excels in features like copy-pasting, detailed response viewing, and multitasking with other desktop tools.
However, there is a significant inconvenience: changes made on one device do not automatically update on the other. On mobile, this requires navigating away and back to the conversation; on desktop, refreshing the browser or restarting the app is often necessary.
To improve usability, I suggest implementing real-time conversation synchronization across devices. When a conversation is open on multiple devices, all updates—new messages, edits, or interactions—should instantly reflect on all active devices. This feature would allow users to seamlessly transition between environments, combining the strengths of both without disrupting the workflow.
