Subject: Proposal: Persistent User Project Library for Creative Workflows
Hello OpenAI Team,
I would like to suggest a feature that could significantly improve long-term creative projects inside ChatGPT.
Current memory is useful for preferences and important facts, but creative users often work with large projects that require reference materials, character sheets, images, world-building documents, style guides, voice references, and project lore.
My proposal is a Persistent User Project Library.
The idea would be a small personal database attached to the user’s account, available across all chats.
Features could include:
- Character reference images
- Project style guides
- World-building documents
- Voice references
- Visual references
- Project timelines
- Custom lore databases
- Version history
Example:
Project: Nanako Universe
Characters:
- Nanako
- Lurkki
- Noki
- Thae-Luum
Worlds:
- Oulu 1932
- Oulu 2026
- Oulu 2060
Reference Images:
- Character sheets
- Outfit references
- Environment references
Project Rules:
- Visual style
- Personality definitions
- Story continuity
The most important feature would be that the library automatically becomes available in every new chat without requiring users to repeatedly upload the same files and explain the same context.
Even a relatively small storage allocation (for example 1 GB) would be enough for many creators.
This would make ChatGPT much more useful for writers, musicians, filmmakers, game developers, artists, and long-term creative projects.
Thank you for your work and for considering the idea.
Best regards, GMF
