Proposal for a verified ‘Creator Mode’ — enabling safe, supervised artistic generation for legitimate creators

(Reposting here from API feedback since this suggestion applies to ChatGPT creative tools rather than coding APIs.)

Hey everyone :waving_hand:

I’m a creative user who’s been developing multimedia storytelling projects (music, visuals, and scripts) with ChatGPT, Suno, CapCut, and other AI tools. I’ve seen how powerful these models can be when used responsibly for storytelling and world-building — but I also understand why strict visual guardrails exist.

That’s why I want to propose something called Creator Mode (or Curator Mode) — a verified-access system that would allow approved creators to generate humanoid or anime-style art safely while still protecting the platform from misuse.

The Concept

Creator Mode would act as a trusted “studio pass” for legitimate creators who:

  • Verify their identity or portfolio (artist, writer, educator, etc.)

  • Agree to monitored use and content restrictions

  • Follow ethical creation rules (no NSFW, impersonation, or harmful imagery)

Once verified, they could access AI character rendering, storyboards, and creative composition tools under closely supervised conditions — all while the system still logs, audits, and filters outputs.

Safety & Oversight

To keep it responsible, Creator Mode could include:

  • Usage logging: All generations are traceable under the user’s verified ID

  • Strict filters: NSFW, real-person likeness, and impersonation blocks remain active

  • Review system: Random moderation spot-checks for compliance

  • Tiered access: Different levels for writers, educators, or visual artists

Why It Matters

This approach balances innovation with responsibility — allowing genuine creatives to finish projects (like story sequences, anime-style openings, character art, or educational material) without risking misuse.

It also lets OpenAI showcase what safe, professional creative collaboration can look like between human creators and AI — not replacing artists, but empowering them with oversight.

Call to Discussion

If anyone else feels this would help the creative community, I’d love to brainstorm details — verification ideas, moderation structure, or potential pilot programs.

Thanks for reading and for all the ongoing improvements. I truly believe Creator Mode could be the bridge between safety and creative freedom that brings more artists into this space responsibly.

Thanks everyone for checking this out :folded_hands:

My goal with Creator Mode isn’t to remove safeguards — it’s to make them work with verified creators instead of against them.

I really think there’s a middle ground where artists, writers, and storytellers can create responsibly under a supervised system.

If anyone here has thoughts on verification, content filters, or ways OpenAI could test this safely, I’d love to hear ideas!

The vision is simple: balance innovation with protection — give legit creators the tools, while keeping everything ethical and secure.
