We are using OpenAI API to build chatbots and services that address our company’s needs by leveraging an internal knowledge base. We have implemented a service that allows us to take company documents, store them in a vector search database, and subsequently use them to generate specific responses for company users. We want to clarify that we are not referring to CustomGPT but to applications built with the APIs that utilize file search.
We are concerned about the security and confidentiality of the company data we handle. Specifically, we would like to clarify the following points:
- Data usage for training: We want to ensure that company data stored and used through the APIs is not used to train OpenAI models or improve other functionalities, and that it is not accessible to parties outside our organization.
- Data sharing: What guarantees are there that the company information stored in our vector storage remains confidential and is not shared or used by OpenAI beyond our specific usage?
Our goal is to protect the privacy and security of sensitive company information. We would greatly appreciate detailed clarifications on OpenAI’s policies regarding the use of company data to address these concerns.
