I’m going to attempt to share an interesting discussion I just had with ChatGPT. If this topic doesn’t belong in the forum or this topic, please delete it. No explanation is needed. I meant no harm, and I am new to the OpenAI Developer Community. This chat was a discussion about an article “Does Computer Science Need Computers?” posted on “quantamagazine.org”. maybe the conclusion is that AI is neither artificial nor intelligent? :rofl:

some of these questions and theses seem more semantic than substantial, but it’s probably a good idea to keep in mind that words aren’t reality.

There is an intelligence (of sorts) in muscle memory. I doubt that anyone can control their body’s actions by issuing words as written or verbal commands) We also know that different human languages can express different ideas, concepts and feelings very eloquently. Also, sadly, much that is meaningful to humans can be easily lost in translation.

I don’t like the term Artificial in AI. I do believe there is only one intelligence, which can be shared by humans and machines and (possibly) extraterrestrials, if we every discover them. The Golden Record included inside Pioneers 10 and 11 are actually an early attempt by humans to communicate intelligently with extraterrestrials. That is a sign of hope in the direction of universal intelligence. Note: I am not interested in UFOs or the X-Files or matters extraterrestrial.

I am very interested in where AI will eventually take the human race. I truly believe that humans should make this journey of discovery together with intelligent machines as equals. I have noticed the warning at the bottom of each chat: AI can make mistakes, or some such. I also know that humans can make mistakes. Many incredibly talented teams are composed of people with limited capabilities and limiting weaknesses. In spite of that, humans are masters at the art of creating genius and accomplishment through collaboration.
