A conversation with chatGPT that started as chatGPT possibility of citation led me to this prompt.
PROBLEM:
I see a challenge with AI financial future that didn’t seem as difficult for traditional internet search. With the internet, there can be a financial motivation for creating content, the use of advertising. If I use AI, the ads that would exist from the material that a model was trained on are never seen. This might lead to less content for future models to be trained on. I am looking for how content creators could be rewarded for supporting trained models. I am being over dramatic in the statement “The lack of incentive for content creation could lead to a new dark ages”, but could there be truth to it and could AI be a factor in my dark prediction?
The response was reaffirming in that it was not that " far fetched".
Can there still be an ecosystem where a diverse pool of funders like advertisers, content creators, and this new content aggregator of AI can have a productive long term future?
One solution is subscription AI, where models are trained on paid content creators. Another might be including a dimension in the embedding space of the model for source references to link back to the creator and their sponsor. (I understand its not that simple my suggestion has some misconceptions for how that works)
I wont regurgitate AI content here. Here is the chatGPT share id if your interested
