ChatGPT is a sophisticated and personable application, but Windows users should have an official way to create a taskbar shortcut to the web version with the proper ChatGPT icon.
At present, creating a distinctive taskbar shortcut can involve browser-specific behaviour, .url versus .lnk shortcuts, and workarounds. The Microsoft Store app exists, but that isn’t necessarily the same experience as the user’s normal web ChatGPT account/interface.
A simple “Install ChatGPT to taskbar” option, or an official downloadable Windows .ico icon for creating shortcuts, would make this considerably easier.
Ideally: click → install/pin → proper ChatGPT icon → opens the user’s normal ChatGPT account.
