New ChatGPT .mp3 and .mp4 file support

I would love ChatGPT to fully support uploading MP3 and MP4 files for analysis. This would allow users to:

  • Transcribe speech from audio and video.
  • Summarize long recordings.
  • Answer questions about the content.
  • Translate spoken language.
  • Identify different speakers when possible.
  • Describe visual content in videos.
  • Navigate to specific moments in a recording (e.g., “What happens at 3:15?”).
  • Analyze lectures, meetings, podcasts, voice notes, interviews, and videos without requiring file conversion.

Full native support for MP3 and MP4 files would make ChatGPT much more useful for studying, work, accessibility, and everyday tasks.
