I’ve seen this idea before (but can’t link to it) but most of those are closed. I believe the old beta feature of Group Chats is basically exactly what we’re looking for.
I use ChatGPT in both a professional (different email) and personal capacity. Sharing chats and splitting the interaction is not an effective path for doing the kind of collaboration and troubleshooting we need to do. A shared project in itself is insufficient.
We don’t want to share a Project or branch each other’s conversations. We want to participate in one continuous ChatGPT conversation together:
Person A → ChatGPT → Person B → ChatGPT → Person A → ChatGPT
Both people should see every message and response, while ChatGPT maintains one continuous context.
Shared Projects don’t provide this. The conversation itself is the collaborative workspace.
We had been hoping to use ChatGPT this way for an ongoing shared application, and the retirement of Group Chats removes exactly the functionality we need. Please reconsider bringing Group Chats back, or provide this same capability within Shared Projects.
We don’t want to share a ChatGPT conversation; we want ChatGPT to participate in a conversation we’re having together.
