Mimi: a custom American Shorthair pet for Codex

Hi everyone,

I made a custom Codex pet called Mimi(咪咪), based on a silver tabby American Shorthair kitten.

The repo includes:

  • a Codex-compatible pet.json

  • an animated spritesheet.webp

  • a simple install script

  • QA contact sheet and validation files

  • selected generation prompts and reference assets

Install:

git clone https://github.com/Spacebody/mimi-codex-pet.git
cd mimi-codex-pet
./install.sh

Then restart Codex and select Mimi from custom pets.

I also kept the QA artifacts in the repo so others can see the sprite atlas structure and reuse the layout as a reference for making their own Codex pets.

Would love feedback, especially from anyone else experimenting with custom Codex pets.
