Why does the GPT app for Desktop default to Microsoft Edge for all searches and links? There appears no way to use Chrome or another browser/search engine from the app.

Perhaps I misunderstand the post but I am able to use Chrome whenever I open up a link from the Windows ChatGPT app. Is Chrome set as your default browser?
Chrome is my default browser and the default for all HTTP and HTTPS. No matter what I do the Chat GPT Windows App opens search links in Edge. I’ve even tried using Chat GPT to figure out what’s going on and its only suggestion was to post on the Community Forum.
Yes please I want an option to choose my favorite browser and that is ofc Chrome!
the default web viewer in the windows desktop ChatGPT app currently uses msedgewebview2. in fact the whole app is built upon this foundation and other chromium processes. My request would be to allow links and URL’s to open in the default browser or a browser of your choice.
Checking, there is a list of options in the context of links. They could just add one line there, “open link in default browser”
