So, I’ve been using chatgpt regularly for editing writing & feedback/suggestions, but I noticed a very serious drop in quality in the last week. When I start a new conversation with a prompt (i.e., make some suggested changes for realism) it’ll somewhat follow the prompt, but then I will reply asking for a follow-up or clarification and it suddenly has NO memory whatsoever of it’s previous message or mine either! This is all in the context of the exact same chat.
Like, I will send a blurb surrounding a plot point & ask for advice, it will provide the advice, then I will reply asking for more details, then AI’s response is totally nonsensical — it will make up random characters & plots & settings never discussed before. When I try to steer the conversation back (like, refer to my previous message), it still cannot understand. I have cleared my memory & tried it again. Still the same issue. I have tried making another account — still the same issue. I’m totally baffled. I have NEVER had this problem before. I honestly am so bummed out since it seems totally useless for me now
