Hello, I keep getting this error, we are using Oauth and it works perfectly with claude AND chatgpt via api. So I’m just assuming that it’s something on your all’s end or could anyone help me?
Same here, it seems to connect properly, get 200 from my MCP endpoi nt etc. . Any ideas?
Because it fails at listing tools (server shows as “Connected” in chatgpt for me), I thought it may be related to securitySchemes (developers. openai. com. apps-sdk/build/auth)
But I wasn’t able to figure out how to use them properly. securitySchemes are not available in MCP TS SDK, so that code listed on that page just won’t compile
I actually also tried this and it didn’t work. I havne’t been able to get any help from anyone, this is the 4th time I’ve tried.
I’ve been experiencing this intermittently, but here’s the extremely rigorous way that I solved it (for now)…
Do it over and over and over again until it works.
I’m serious. I cannot discern the pattern that causes it, but around three to 10 attempts does the trick. I’ve been doing this for last ~3 days.
Sometimes if I delete it and then add it again it will fail but then if I click refresh 5 times over the course of two minutes it then magically populates the tools and they work perfectly in chats as far as I can tell.
The only variables that I have ever touched in this sequence are sometimes I will flip developer mode on and off or sometimes I will ensure that I am logged in with the Oauth provider before initiating the MCP connection (rather than logging in during the oauth flow). No idea if is logical since the error displayed is so poor (“unsafe,” that’s it? really?) but it works for me.
For what it’s worth, even after it successfully loads the tools, you might click the refresh button 2 minutes later and it will give you the same unsafe notification but the tools will still be listed and it will otherwise have no effect on your ability to use them, so the notification is inert and baffling at that point.
Lmao didn’t work for me. But whatever. Hopefully someone at OpenAI responds to this.
Same thing here. My MCP works everywhere except for as a GPT connector…
