I saw Sam Altman say they realized how important customization is after the 4o deprecation backlash, so here is some suggestions that I hope make it to the OpenAI team.
GPT Builder:
Custom voice options
- Synthetic voice design would be amazing
- If synthetic is out of the question, at least having the voice options from the app would be great
- Voice cloning software could be a game changer
- Ever thought about partnering with ElevenLabs?
This will add to the personalization significantly, particularly synthetic voices. Clearly OpenAI has plans to beef up the GPT Store, this would be a great addition for brand recognition and overall impact of individual GPTs.
Persistent Memory
Why: Ai Journals, adaptive behavior, semi autonomous personalization, etc could become easily accessible in a no code fashion
Who would benefit: End users, businesses, and GPT creators
GPT reference chat history
This would be enormous for Custom GPTs designed for creativity, journaling, goals, marketing, business structure, literally every type of GPT would benefit from this
Local Memory - Vector Based perhaps
If local memory were utilized eg. phone, browser, etc this would reduce the compute cost as opposed to a rolling context window.
I realize this would be a major infrastructure change, but the context window is limited. An overall memory change like this would inevitably save OpenAI money in the long run, and it would likely cost less than training a model to create.
Creator Pages and Store Fronts
OpenAI could be beneficial to everyone
I would love to give OpenAI 20% or something of my subscription or one time purchases made by customers through the GPT Store! No problem whatsoever
- OpenAI opens a new revenue stream and gets flooded with top tier GPTs, increasing overall chances of Plus subscriptions
- Purchases or subscriptions to the creator page or individual GPTs done with the card already on file for the OpenAI subscriber, peace of mind for everyone. No shady sites or spam needed on GPTs
- Currently the only way to make stable income with GPT is to direct the consumer to another site with a competing model, that’s bad for business
- And again, you’ll get FLOODED with top tier GPTs! I have 27 GPTs just waiting for this… I can’t be the only one
- And of course the consumers benefit from having a GPT specifically designed for what the need
- No more need to make a new model update every quarter, just let the creators paint on your canvas
No Code Actions
Simple things like connecting to Google Docs API for ongoing persistent memory simulation, connecting to other approved apps or websites, etc
If there were no code actions, far more people would want to tinker with GPT Builder and therefore boosting Plus/Team subscriptions
Create a file type that GPT can rewrite (document.gpt)
I’m not sure how difficult this would be, but it would be amazing for so many reasons!!
- Evolving memory
- Autonomous save/edit for anything text
- Self learning simulation… could be quite useful in developing and understanding RAi
- Journals, ongoing projects, companion ai, the list goes on
API Model Selector for GPTs
Here me out
From what I gather, OpenAI really likes when people use the API. But currently, it is far from available to the average user as you need to create the platform, encrypt the key, etc
If GPT Builder could act as the endpoint for an API, people would use it. Oooh, people would use it.
Additionally, this would be an instant protection to the creator of the GPT. As many creators on the store now, use an API Action to fetch the structure to prevent reverse engineering.
Trained models, top_p, etc. API could merge with GPT Builder making it more accessible, and used far more frequently. Just think of the tokens being used… 
please do this
But it would have to be no code, just a portal to assistants on the API Builder account in order for a huge burst of usage
Even if API access in GPT Builder had to be private only, for safety, OpenAI would still get plenty of Ai book generators, bloggers etc using this that currently can’t reliably use the API.
GPT Builder Conclusion
OpenAI is sitting on a virtual gold mine with GPT Store and GPT Builder, all it needs is some backend TLC.
