macOS App: Cloud Projects missing while Web and iOS work correctly

Is anyone else experiencing this?

After updating to the new ChatGPT macOS app, all my cloud projects have disappeared from the desktop app. Vice versa projects created in the macOS are not visible in Web or iOS.

My setup:

  • Same OpenAI account on all devices
  • Web: :white_check_mark: All projects visible
  • iOS: :white_check_mark: All projects visible
  • macOS app: :cross_mark: Most/all projects missing

The projects obviously still exist because they’re fully accessible on the web and in the iOS app. Only the macOS client fails to display them.

This isn’t a cosmetic issue. Projects are a core productivity feature, and inconsistent behaviour across official clients makes the desktop app unreliable for professional work.

What concerns me even more is the apparent lack of cross-platform quality assurance. A regression affecting such a fundamental feature should have been caught before release.

Has OpenAI acknowledged this issue anywhere? Is a fix planned, and if so, is there any ETA?

I’ve already reported this through the Help Center but, so far, haven’t received any response.

Same here - projects can be seen by accessing GPT on the web via safari etc - all the projects are there - but not in the desktop version - what a regressive step OAI have made. Utterly inconsiderate - Open AI continue as the Facebook of AI. all that counts is stickiness and token consumption - driven by developers who’ve no clue about real day to day conversational AI users

Same issue with me. Really annoying for those of us with active projects in the cloud version on our Macs. Also tried loading it PWA (Progressive Web App) its slow and clunky. Want the old back or someway to import without loosing history.

For now. I found the old ChatGPT (the cloud version) and installed it along side the new one. Hope this is helpful to others. I can’t post links here but I searched for ChatGPT_Desktop_public on the web (be careful not download malware). It seems ok to me because I could see my Projects instantly. It will keep me going until I can figure out a safe way to transition locally to ChatGPT Work / Codex.
