Looking for a way to get GPT to create tables with merged cells

Hi everyone, I’ve been having some issues when trying to get GPT to create tables that merge vertical cells together.
Here’s an example of what I want to achieve:
(I’m limited to one image since I made an account to ask this, so imagine a spreadsheet table where the first column is one merged cell- the rest is a duplicate of the image below.)

What I get instead:

I’ve tried using different language/words to describe merging cells, I’ve provided an excel with the cells already merged as reference, I’ve given it pictures as reference, but for some reason it doesn’t seem to be able to merge cells. But I hope I’m wrong and there’s a way to do this anyway, hence me asking here! Any tips/tricks would be much appreciated.

P.s: Yes, code interpreter is turned on.
EDIT: And I’m using 4o for this.

Welcome to the Forum!

You are right that ChatGPT seems to struggle with visually merging the cells. However, based on my testing it is capable of creating a downloadable Excel / CSV file with merged cells. Depending on your specific objectives, this might be an alternative route you can take.

Thanks for the welcome.

I’ll give that a try, thanks.
