Login error in ChatGPT Atlas Browser on macOS

I’m trying to use the macOS ChatGPT Atlas app on my work computer and keep getting the error:

“The server certificate could not be verified”

Even on a personal hotspot, the TLS certificate is being re-signed by our enterprise proxy rather than OpenAI’s real certificate.

Looks like the app uses strict certificate pinning and fails when traffic is inspected.

Could the OpenAI team update Atlas to support environments with enterprise TLS inspection or proxying, or provide a documented workaround for corporate-managed devices?

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to log in to Browser Atlas in ChatGPT, but I keep getting the following error message:
API.BaseAPI.InternalRequestError error 1

I’ve tried restarting the browser and logging in again, but the issue persists.

Has anyone else encountered this error or found a solution for it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hi Folks!

You are much better of reporting issues to help.openai.com and using the icon in the bottom right or support@openai.com as this forum is not monitored by the ChatGPT teams.

This forum is specifically for developers and those making use of the OpenAI API’s and related services.

Thanks!

After I had the same issue the solution that worked for me was to run Atlas behind a VPN that forces TCP fallback and bypasses the broken network layer.
