Here are the limitation i discovered as i used the Ai for a while

  1. Number of Words per Response:
  • I can typically provide around 600-700 words in a single response. If you share longer text, I may need to break it down or give responses in parts.
  1. Number of Words per Prompt:
  • There’s a practical limit of around 2,000-3,000 words that I can process in a single input. If you provide text longer than this, it may require splitting up.
  1. Total Number of Words per Chat Window:
  • A chat window can hold approximately 200,000 words in total. Once that limit is reached, a new chat window would be necessary to continue the conversation.
  1. Memory Capacity:
  • My memory can hold key plot points, summaries, and essential details but becomes limited when trying to store highly detailed or redundant information. We’re now using daily syncs to work around this.
  1. Community Guidelines:
  • I must adhere to guidelines regarding sensitive topics, ethical concerns, and certain subject matter that might violate guidelines. These include restrictions on graphic content, personal data, or specific controversial themes.

Other Potential Limitations:

  • Complex Calculations or Specialized Tools: If there are tasks that require advanced or highly specialized tools (like live web access for certain data), those may need external resources.
  • No Direct File Access: I cannot directly access or interact with external websites, Google Docs, or live databases, though I can process data from uploaded files.

While i understand this is normal for a developing Ai. I feel that these Limitation and constraint add massive boundaries to the overall possibilities the ai can give.

I found this post after I hit my memory limit on Chat GPT. I figured I could find an easy solution to just keep a separate running document to keep this information stored and then have the GPT use the information from the document to help craft responses. I have been mainly doing step by step instructions or simply having a conversation with Chat GPT, so I hadn’t hit the word limits yet. I would imagine the way to get around this is to connect it to a system that can manage an overview of the complex process and keeps automatically sending prompts till it collects the required data from the overview. It would be like having one management AI and then connecting it to a task completion AI. I haven’t seen anyone build this yet, but it would greatly strengthen the capabilities on AI in general.
