This is probably a new one for the books but lately, I’ve been using the “read aloud” feature to read responses to me while I do other tasks in real life. I’ve always used Vale, since I find English accents quite pleasing, but lately I realized that an accent of a woman whose native language is Spanish, but speaks fluent English is something I, and probably others, would enjoy (think Mexican or Colombian-American.) Allowing the user to assign a custom name would be interesting, or names could include ones like Sofia, Valeria (similar to Vale), Isabella, or Andrea.
Also, since chatgpt isn’t exclusive to any specific region, it makes sense for some users in diverse geographic areas to have a voice they feel familiar with.
Maybe there could be a way to better personalize the voices. Also, the fact that only a specific amount of text can be read aloud is something that needs to be fixed, but that’s not the point of this post.
