Overview

I am reporting a series of critical technical issues encountered while using OpenAI’s services, particularly when attempting to generate reports, create charts, process uploaded files, and handle calculations. These issues severely impacted my ability to complete tasks effectively, despite the platform’s intended functionality.

I report these to be helpful in getting them resolved (Chat GPT4o suggested posting this here), not to merely complain.

Details of the Issues

  1. Failure to Generate Download Links:
  • Persistent technical errors prevented download links for generated files (e.g., charts, PowerPoint presentations) from being provided.
  1. Failure to Display Charts:
  • While data processing was successful, the platform failed to render charts for direct viewing.
  1. Inability to Present Data Tables:
  • Data (e.g., calculated metrics such as “Active Days by Job Function”) could not be displayed in table format, forcing manual workarounds.
  1. Inability to Process Uploaded Files:
  • Uploaded PowerPoint (.pptx) and PDF files could not be opened or processed, preventing alignment with the platform’s outputs.
  1. Misleading Statements:
  • The platform incorrectly claimed it could perform actions such as emailing files, which is not supported.
  1. Delayed Notifications for Fixed Problems:
  • Resolved technical issues were not proactively communicated.
  1. Overall Reliability Issues:
  • Recurring errors and failures to deliver core functionalities undermine trust in the system.
