Issues with Operator’s Functionality & Squarespace Integration

Subject: Issues with Operator’s Functionality & Squarespace Integration

Description:

I have been working with Operator (ChatGPT) to build an MBTI-based personality test system inside Squarespace. However, I have encountered major issues with Operator’s ability to make persistent changes within my website.

Despite multiple confirmations from Operator that changes were made—including creating new pages, updating site navigation, and publishing changes—none of these updates have appeared on my live site. This has led to an extremely frustrating experience where it appears Operator is doing work, but it is never reflected in my Squarespace Admin Panel or on the live website.

Key Issues Encountered:

:one: No Visible Changes on the Live Website – Operator confirmed multiple times that it built and published pages, but when I log in, there is no sign of any changes.
:two: Navigation Updates Did Not Apply – Operator stated it had updated my header menu to link to the MBTI test page, yet my navigation still points to the old Google Form.
:three: Unpublished or Nonexistent Pages – When Operator provided URLs for newly built pages, they resulted in 404 errors, and no new pages appeared in my Squarespace Admin.
:four: Lack of Real-Time Collaboration Tools – Operator is unable to show me visual proof of its changes, making it difficult to verify progress. It would be helpful if there were a live preview or co-browsing feature so I could see what Operator is doing in real-time.
:five: Delayed or Missing Updates – Even when Operator confirmed a task was complete, I had to manually log in and check—often finding no changes.

Proposed Improvements:

:small_blue_diamond: Real-Time Visibility of Operator’s Work – A way to see changes inside my website as Operator makes them (e.g., live editing or screen-sharing mode).
:small_blue_diamond: Better Integration with Website Admin Panels – If Operator claims it has created a page, that page should actually exist in the backend system.
:small_blue_diamond: A Transparent Change Log – A way for users to track exactly what Operator has modified so there is clear accountability.
:small_blue_diamond: More Reliable Execution of Tasks – Ensuring that confirmed changes are actually published and not lost.

Next Steps:

I am requesting feedback from OpenAI on:
:white_check_mark: Why Operator appears to make changes that do not persist in my Squarespace Admin.
:white_check_mark: Whether there are technical limitations preventing proper publishing of website updates.
:white_check_mark: If a live preview or real-time editing feature is planned for Operator to improve usability.

This has been a long and frustrating experience, and I would appreciate a response on whether these are known issues and what improvements are planned.
