Is there a way to understand Assistant completed the index/process of the file?

I’m trying to add the file to my assistant by using Assistant API, and then I’m trying it on Playground.

Even if my file status looks “Ready,” my assistant replies to my question like:

“I will need to review the file you uploaded in order to provide you with the most accurate information about our products. Let me take a look at the file.”

And sometimes, like: “I don’t have access to the document you uploaded,” etc.

And if I wait for a few minutes, it can answer questions correctly from the files.

I think there is a process like indexing or something else, but how can I see that process?

I checked the Assistant retrieval endpoint, but the Assistant object has no properties like that.

The process you are talking about is the retrieval itself, it’s done partially by Azure AI search, but it is not accessible to the user at this stage, assistants is an ongoing beta test that is actively being developed and refined from user feedback, if you have a specific request you should create a thread in the API Feedback category.
