Is the moderation API available for non OpenAI related content?

In the past this was not allowed however, the restriction of it being exclusive for OpenAI generated content seems to have been removed from the documentation. Does this limitation still hold off in the official docs or terms and policies?

I could not find any restrictions in either of those

So, I’ve reached OpenAI support team and they said:

Hi there, Yes, the Moderation endpoint is designed to be used with both content generated by OpenAI models and non-OpenAI related content. It’s a versatile tool intended to help ensure that the content your application processes adheres to certain safety and content guidelines, regardless of the content’s origin. The Moderation API can be particularly useful for filtering or flagging potentially unsafe or inappropriate content before it reaches your end-users, enhancing the overall safety and user experience of your application. For more detailed information on how to use the Moderation API, including examples and best practices, you can refer to the Moderation API guide. If you have any specific questions or need further clarification on how you can integrate the Moderation API with your application, feel free to reach out. Best,
OpenAI Team

So it seems that now we can openly use it for other things that generated content. Yey!
