Has anyone else run into this issue?
After the latest ChatGPT / Codex update, the Codex shortcut disappeared, and the Codex menu/tab is no longer visible anywhere in the ChatGPT Mac app.
I manually checked for updates, but the app says that ChatGPT 1.2026.183 is already the latest version available.
Is this a bug, a staged rollout, or is there something I can do to get the Codex menu back?

Total mess. Followed codex update advice for mac app. Codex then disappeared. Updated Chatgpt (as advised app), no ‘Work’ version available, just model updates from what I can see. So now I cant work in my codex projects unless I re-set them up in Codex cloud (if it even exists now?), and obviously my local mac projects/chats will not be synced, absolute nightmare. As an added bonus, when contacting support over this, supports not working so effectively ive already lost about 4 hrs of work

Annoyed is an understatement!! OpenAI WTF were you thinking! I can’t find my chats, projects, everything is missing. Absolute shambles of a decision to do this.
All of Codex data is missing. Gemini helped me to make a backup of my Codex files, which ChatGPT support was unable or unwilling to do. I still don’t have access to the Codex app in the new ChatGPT app which I reinstalled. The system shows this issue as resolved which it is far from being resolved!
No - this did not solve it. My Mac removed Codex and Atlas because there were injected with Malware. How is OpenAi allowing this to happen?
What worked for me was running “codex app .” in my MacOS terminal after installing the Codex CLI. Hope that works as well for you guys!
Same issue here, Codex disappeared suddenly. ChatGPT App for Mac shows that there was an update available but raises an error when updating. Then, after removing the ChatGPT App and downloading and installing the new ChatGPT App version, I got the new ChatGPT Codex version with all code, branches, etc worked previously in Codex! Hope that works for you as well.
July 10th, 3pm EST. This is a complete mess, never been so disappointed with an update. Actually, this update bug has been going on for a while, now, every time I send a prompt codex is freezing. I already have the version with the chat option. What a horrible update! Today I really needed to make progress, and this is really stoping it all!
Same issue, can’t find a fix.
