Hi,

I am writing to inquire about whether integrating a custom GPT in a commercial video game would be against OpenAI’s policies or not?

The custom GPT would adhere to OpenAI’s policies about prohibiting use of the AI to generate harmful content, create automated systems that impersonate individuals, or mislead users in any other way. Moreover, content generated by ChatGPT within the game will not infringe on any third-party IP.

The players of the game would know that they’re interacting with a custom GPT made by the game developer. I would ensure user data is handled in compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

While you can’t embed a Custom GPT as they’re only available in the ChatGPT ecosystem, you can use the API…

With the API, though, you need to worry about the cost per call, etc. That would be the benefit of embedding a Custom GPT, but as I said, that’s not possible.
