Hello OpenAI team,
I have a product idea I would like to share with your team.
What if every ChatGPT-enabled device could have its own secure Device/Assistant ID, linked to the owner’s account?
With the owner’s permission, ChatGPT could have access to things such as Bluetooth and location. If someone lost their phone, they could open ChatGPT on another device and say something like:
“Find my lost device — ID 12345.”
The ChatGPT instance on the other device could then communicate securely with the lost device and, where technically possible, use Bluetooth, location services, or nearby participating devices to help locate it.
The bigger idea is ChatGPT-to-ChatGPT communication: different ChatGPT instances could securely communicate and cooperate across a user’s devices.
This could eventually extend beyond phones to computers, cars, smart-home devices and robots — creating a secure network of AI assistants that can communicate on behalf of their owner.
Obviously, privacy, authentication and consent would need to be fundamental to the design.
I think this could become a very interesting capability for the future of ChatGPT and AI-powered devices.
Thank you for taking the time to consider the idea.
Best regards
