Question:
How can I set a hard “usage limit” on the OpenAI platform so that spending stops automatically once the limit is reached?
Right now, under Limits I only see “Organization budget” (which just shows alerts, not an actual stop) and “Rate limits” (technical token/request limits). Under Billing → Usage limits, when I click, it only takes me to the “Usage” page — I don’t see any option for setting a monthly hard spend cap.
I want to prevent OpenAI from charging more than a fixed amount (e.g., $5/month). Auto-recharge is already disabled, but is there any way to enforce a hard monthly cap directly inside the platform instead of just relying on manual top-ups or budget alerts?
