There are a ton of articles about this, apparently, ChatGPT is experiencing high traffic due to hackers. I don’t know if this is fake news since the only sources are not from the USA (I’m not familiar with journalistic standards abroad), but just enter the error code in google and a bunch of articles pop up (we’re not allowed to include links here).
Right now there are periodic outages due to what seems to be a distributed denial of service attack, so please bare with it.
I just tried from my desktop(workday over) and I see chrome has un update available, I didn’t go through with it and it seems I can access and use the platform.
A bit silly and annoying that I couldn’t use it from my work laptop : /
I found a solution to the problem for windows owners. Download the User-Agent Switcher for Chrome extension and select Safari, after that chat GPT will work again

Try with another plugin User-Agent Switcher and Manager. Works by selecting OS Linux and IOS by selecting Safari browser. Experiment with different settings.

I have not been able to get on ChatGPT 3.5 all day. Consistently disaplys the following message “Something went wrong. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com.” And cannot find how to contact anyone to report the issue through the help centre without going around a loop.
Google’s Bard Ai isnt nearly as good but it will get us through the next 24hrs
Had the same problem but seems Firefox works.
Thank you so much, you’ve really saved me there
